He needs an EA who can act as a proactive gate-keeper, with whom he will work in partnership, to make him as effective as possible. He travels world-wide and almost continually, so you will be able to work autonomously and not be micro-managed. His diary is back-to-back and he needs someone who will be switched on enough to work out the importance of each meeting or email and either handle some themselves, or equally filter the critical information to him, providing him with daily briefings and itineraries. The ‘clients’ are all top-level in their respective arenas, so you will need to have the professionalism and ability to liaise with governments, dignitaries and leaders of business. There will be events to organise, shows to attend and also private duties to help lighten the load on his shoulders. He really is looking for a right-hand who can help with his workflow, provide seamless support and act as an extension of him and an ambassador for both him and the business. You will be privy to information of the most sensitive nature, so full security clearance will be required for the successful candidate.
