We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education (P.E.) Teacher to join a nursery school, working with children aged 18 months to 8 years old. The ideal candidate will have experience in early childhood education, a passion for promoting physical activity, and the ability to create a fun and safe environment that fosters the physical and social development of young children.

Key Responsibilities:

Physical Education Instruction:
– Design and implement age-appropriate physical education programs that promote motor skills, coordination, balance, and overall physical fitness.
– Develop lesson plans that incorporate a variety of physical activities, including games, exercises, and sports, tailored to different age groups and abilities.
– Teach the fundamentals of movement, including running, jumping, throwing, and catching, as well as basic team sports concepts.
Class Management:
– Manage groups of young children, ensuring a structured yet enjoyable environment during P.E. classes.
– Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of each child, providing encouragement and support to foster a positive self-image.
– Maintain discipline and address behavioural issues with a constructive and nurturing approach.
Safety & Supervision:
– Ensure the safety of all children during physical activities by closely supervising them and enforcing safety rules.
– Conduct regular inspections of the physical education equipment and play areas to ensure they are safe and well-maintained.
– Respond quickly and appropriately to any accidents or injuries, administering first aid as necessary.
Developmental Support:
– Support the physical development of children by incorporating activities that enhance gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness.
– Encourage social development through cooperative games and activities that promote teamwork, communication, and respect for others.
– Observe and assess the physical abilities and progress of each child, providing feedback to parents and collaborating with other teachers as needed.
Communication:
– Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on their child’s physical development and addressing any concerns.
– Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate physical activity into the broader educational curriculum.
– Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events as required.
Professional Development:
– Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in physical education, early childhood development, and safety standards.
– Attend ongoing training and professional development sessions as required by the school.

Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience teaching physical education to young children or in early childhood education settings is highly preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field. Certification in early childhood physical education is a plus.
Skills:
– Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate physical education activities.
– Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
– Patience, creativity, and the ability to engage and motivate young children.
– Ability to create a positive and inclusive environment for all children.

Physical Requirements:
– Must be physically active and capable of demonstrating physical education activities.
– Ability to lift and carry equipment and assist children in physical activities as needed.
– Comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor setting, depending on the activity and weather conditions.
